Lukashenko welcomes labor migrants from Uzbekistan

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko expressed warm thoughts about Uzbek labor migrants during a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus, Rahmatulla Nazarov. Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus highly values the diligence of the Uzbek people and is always happy to see them in their country. The President invited Uzbeks to come to Belarus and work there, noting that all conditions are provided for them.

The Belarusian leader did not hide the fact that there are high demands on migrants in the country. According to him, strict order and discipline serve as an important factor for migrants to fully realize their potential. Uzbeks working in Belarus have the opportunity to compete on an equal footing with the local population, as well as with citizens of Russia and Ukraine. Lukashenko called on all foreign workers to engage in fair competition and productive labor.

During the meeting, the issue of historical memory was also touched upon. Alexander Lukashenko gratefully recalled that during the Second World War, the Uzbek people provided shelter to many Belarusians and supported them in difficult times. Emphasizing that he is indebted to the Uzbek people for the help provided during that period, the Belarusian leader highlighted that the relations between the two countries are becoming stronger based on these historical ties.

Today, the Belarusian economy needs qualified personnel in various fields, and Uzbek specialists play an important role in filling these gaps. The parties exchanged views on developing mutual cooperation, in particular, on further expanding ties in the field of labor migration. Ambassador Rahmatulla Nazarov, in turn, confirmed that the friendly relations between the two countries have reached the level of strategic partnership.
