Reports that the commander of the Basij, General Ghulamriza Soleimani, and the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Ali Lorijani, were eliminated by Israel have been confirmed. Meanwhile, the question arises: if the targeted attempts on the first day of the war did not yield the expected result, why is this tactic being used again?
Behind such targeted destruction can be several goals. First, creating conditions for negotiations - removing current leaders with firm positions and replacing them with managed individuals. Secondly, to punish the existing leadership - to exert pressure to openly oppose the US and Israel.
Thirdly, changing the information and psychological environment is the elimination of the negative background caused by rumors about the death of Benjamin Netanyahu. Thus, these actions are aimed at increasing pressure not only on the military, but also on the information and psychological front.
