Measles epidemic in Bangladesh: 15 deaths

A measles epidemic has erupted in Bangladesh, with the country's government confirming 15 deaths. The area most affected by the epidemic was the northwestern city of Rajshahi, where health authorities have strengthened epidemiological surveillance and regular monitoring of the situation.

To prevent the rapid spread of the disease, the Bangladesh government is preparing to launch an accelerated vaccination program. Measles is one of the most contagious diseases, and to fully control its mass spread, at least 95% of the population must be vaccinated.

The government will launch a national accelerated vaccination campaign starting next Sunday. The vaccination program will be carried out primarily in high-risk areas - especially in Rajshah. These measures are aimed at stopping the territorial and national spread of the measles epidemic.
