It is reported that approximately 200 people died as a result of an airstrike on a market in Nigeria.
According to Reuters, citing local residents and regional council representatives, a strike by the Nigerian Air Force on a rural market in Yobe State caused significant damage.
Although the military reported an operation against the "Boko Haram" group in the state of Borno, it did not provide an official comment on casualties among the civilians in the market.
Yobe officials confirmed that the strike occurred in the area near the Jilli market, noting that some people were injured, but did not provide exact figures.
Local council spokesperson Lavani Zanna Nur Geydam estimated that more than 200 people died as a result of the attack. Some local residents and representatives of international humanitarian organizations also provided similar information.
