US President Donald Trump called on South Korea to join the military mission in the Strait of Hormuz. He announced this on his Truth Social page. According to Trump, Iranian forces had opened fire on vessels belonging to countries not directly involved in the conflict. It is reported that among those affected there is at least one South Korean merchant vessel.
The US President stated that the current situation demonstrates the necessity for South Korea to join the mission. He said that US forces had destroyed seven speedboats. At the same time, it was noted that no serious damage had been caused to other vessels. Trump also announced that an official statement on this matter would be made in the coming days. In particular, a press conference involving the US Secretary of Defence and military leadership is planned.
