Malta to provide free ChatGPT Plus access to all citizens

Malta is expected to become the first country in the world to provide all its citizens with free access to ChatGPT Plus. OpenAI announced the launch of a national program titled "Artificial Intelligence for All" in the country.

According to the agreement, Maltese citizens will be able to use ChatGPT Plus for free for one year after completing a special course on artificial intelligence. The first phase of the program is scheduled to begin in May.

The project is being coordinated by the Malta Digital Innovation Authority. Officials state that this initiative will help improve citizens' skills in working with modern technologies.

Silvio Schembri, Malta's Minister for the Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects, stated that the country is striving not to be left behind in the digital age. He noted that the goal is to bring Maltese citizens to the forefront of global technological changes.

The program also applies to Maltese citizens living abroad. OpenAI has not disclosed the financial details of the agreement.
