In Uzbekistan, import cars of categories M (passenger transport) and N (cargo transport) are now exempt from the obligation to obtain an environmental certificate, uz24.uz reported.
According to the new regulation, an environmental certificate is not required, but cars must meet Euro-4 or higher environmental standards. Inspection will only be carried out from a safety perspective based on the general technical regulations.
The requirement also applies to hybrid cars, while electric cars are exempted from this.
Importers are required to provide the following documents:
– A compliance letter with Euro-4 or higher standards issued by the manufacturer or dealer.
– Legal documents in the manufacturing country prohibiting the production of cars below Euro-4 standards.
– Other technical documents confirming compliance with Euro-4 or higher standards.
If it is not possible to conduct an inspection through laboratory testing, certification bodies will register the car based on the documents provided by the importer.
