Chevrolet Onix is one of the cars becoming popular in Uzbekistan. The fact that 14,200 units were sold between January and August confirms this. However, this model also has a number of drawbacks, according to Kursiv Uzbekistan. These are related to everything from fuel type to interior ergonomics.
The car's 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine requires only AI-95 or higher-quality gasoline. It is strictly not recommended to use AI-91 or AI-80 fuel. For turbocharged versions, some specialists recommend AI-98 gasoline. This situation creates problems for many drivers.
For healthy engine operation, oil and filters need to be replaced every 5–6 thousand kilometers. Installing a gas system is technically impossible. This is a major drawback for most drivers in Uzbekistan.
The three-cylinder engine produces a slight vibration at idle. While this does not affect safety, it has a negative impact on comfort.
The plastic parts in the interior are hard, and some comforts are missing: there is no trunk handle, and sun visors lack lights. In addition, the trunk volume is 469 liters, which is smaller than the Cobalt model. Although the stiff suspension provides stability at high speeds, it increases shaking on uneven roads.
As for safety, the new Onix has received a 5-star rating, but the versions sold in Uzbekistan have only 4 airbags. The rear brakes are drum-type and less effective compared to modern disc brakes.
