Now new "smart" cameras are recognizing the driver's face

"Smart" cameras with facial recognition function have been launched in Uzbekistan. The new system automatically recognizes the driver by their face and determines whether a citizen deprived of a driver's license is behind the wheel.

It is reported that in such cases, the violation is formalized electronically online. That is, even without the participation of the inspector, the data will be recorded through the system and appropriate measures will be taken.

According to the rules, driving without a driver's license entails a fine of 50 BRV - 20.6 million soums. If the violation is committed repeatedly, the penalty may increase from 50-100 BRV - 20.6 million soums to 41.2 million soums, or up to 2-3 years of imprisonment.

It is noted that several violations were detected during the testing phase of the system. In the near future, this practice is expected to be more widely used in road control.
