Geely unveiled a long-range hybrid

Geely has revealed key technical details of its new Galaxy M7, a hybrid crossover designed to combine low fuel use with an unusually long driving range. The model is aimed at buyers who want electric-only capability for daily trips while keeping the flexibility of a gasoline engine for longer journeys. Reports Avtomir.zahav.ru.

The Galaxy M7 is a midsize crossover measuring 4,770 mm in length, with a wheelbase of 2,785 mm. Its styling follows the design language already seen in Geely's Galaxy M family, which also includes the larger Galaxy M9. Under the hood, the vehicle uses a hybrid system built around a 1.5-liter engine producing 112 horsepower and a single electric motor.

The main highlight is its range. Geely says the crossover can travel up to 225 km using electric power alone. With a fully charged battery and a full fuel tank, the total range reaches 1,730 km under the Chinese CLTC testing cycle. The company also says the model features an advanced thermal management system and supports fast charging.

Fuel economy is listed at 3.35 liters per 100 km, underlining Geely's focus on efficiency. Sales of the new crossover are expected to begin in China in April, where it will compete most directly with the BYD Song Plus DM-i.
