BYD plans to produce special models for the European market

Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD aims to introduce a new line of vehicles tailored for the European market within the next three years. This strategy begins with the Dolphin G hybrid model, which will be unveiled next month. The car will be presented to the public at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. This is reported by Autocar.co.uk .

BYD Executive Vice President Stella Li emphasized that the company wants to be perceived as a local brand by European consumers. According to her, while vehicle sizes are increasing in the Chinese market, more compact models remain in demand in European cities such as Paris, Milan, and London.

The company plans to implement European standards for future B and C segment vehicles. Stella Li stated that cars intended for Europe should not exceed 4.3 meters in length. This approach involves creating new vehicle designs that cater specifically to European tastes rather than simply importing cars from China.

The new models will not only adapt to European requirements but are also intended to be manufactured within the region. Construction is currently being finalized at BYD's new plant in Hungary. This facility is expected to be operational by the end of the year, with plans to assemble electric vehicles such as the Dolphin Surf and Atto 2.
