An epic film on Amir Temur’s legacy now in final editing
“The Rise of the Last Conqueror” is a historical film inspired by the life of the scholar, commander, and empire founder – Amir Temur. The project recently entered post-production and is expected to become a significant cultural event not only for Uzbekistan but for the entire Central Asian cinema scene.

Real scenes, real atmosphere

Filming took place entirely in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The released footage shows the production team’s effort to authentically revive history while preserving the beauty of ancient cities. Historic locations like Khiva, Bukhara, and Samarkand breathe life into the film.

Authentic market scenes, traditional costumes, historical architecture, and combat preparation sequences – all combine to leave a lasting impression.

A Hollywood star as Temur

The role of Amir Temur is portrayed by Hollywood actor Christian Mortensen. His performance in action scenes and his Turkic features suggest that the casting team made a thoughtful and fitting choice. Joining him are actors such as Mahesh Jadu (as Amir Husayn) and Uzbek actress Yulduz Rajabova (as Uljoi Turkon Khatun).

Epic setting and modern production

Directed by Jacob Schwartz and written by Matthew Green, the film aims to fuse historical storytelling with modern cinematic technology. The team highlights their goal to present every scene with vivid impact, rooted in documented sources. Drones, stabilized cameras, and carefully constructed sets were employed throughout production.

When is the premiere?
The film is currently in the final stages of editing. While the official release date is not yet confirmed, producers are aiming for a premiere in the summer of 2025. The story will cover Temur’s early life, his efforts to unify the state, and his unmatched military genius.
