Christopher Nolan used two million feet of film stock for his new film, The Odyssey

Famous British director Christopher Nolan announced that he has completed the filming of one of his biggest projects - "The Odyssey."

In an interview with Empire, the director stated that over two million feet (609.6 kilometers) of film stock were used for the film. Filming lasted 91 days, with most of the scenes filmed in the real open sea.

"The Odyssey" is a new interpretation based on Homer's "Odyssey," one of the oldest epics in human history. Matt Damon plays the role of Odysseus in the film. Other stars included Tom Holland, Ann Hetway, Zendaya, and Robert Pattinson.

According to Nolan, this project was created as a tribute to the legendary adventure films he watched in his childhood:

"The Harryhausen-style films I watched in my childhood were not recreated by anyone with today's IMAX and a large budget. I would like to fill this gap," the director said.

The film's premiere will take place on July 17, 2026, in IMAX format. Critics are already calling "The Odyssey" Nolan's next monumental work.
