A year later, Lady Gaga responded to the negative reviews of the film “Joker: Folie à Deux”. This was reported by Pravilamag.
The pop singer said that the harsh criticism seemed “very stupid” to her and emphasized that it was a “painful experience” because she had put a lot of effort into this role.
“I was not indifferent. Funny enough, it’s a bit embarrassing to say this, but honestly, when the criticism first began, I started laughing. Because it completely threw me off balance,” the singer said.
“Sometimes it takes time to come to terms with a situation, and it can be painful. After all, I put a lot of myself into my work,” she added.
The sequel to “Joker” was released in September 2024. Lady Gaga played the role of the main character’s lover — Harley Quinn. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film received a 31% “freshness” rating from both critics and viewers. The film also received the Golden Raspberry anti-award, where Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga were named the “worst on-screen duo.”
