The amount of tax debt in Uzbekistan has been revealed
The amount of unpaid taxes in Uzbekistan amounts to 8.5 trillion soums. This was announced by Mubin Mirzayev, First Deputy Chairman of the Tax Committee, at a meeting with journalists in Tashkent on April 1.

According to him, this year, overdue tax debts will not exceed 10 percent.

“Today, there are 8.5 trillion soums of unpaid taxes. In March, for the first time, debts were reduced by 140 billion soums. In general, tax debts increased somewhat in 2024, but we have made firm plans to bring this under control and not exceed 10 percent in 2025,” the committee representative said.

Indebtedness in the manufacturing and construction sectors

According to the Tax Committee, as of March 1, 2025, the number of manufacturing enterprises with tax debts exceeding 100 million soums was 978. Their total debt exceeded 1.3 trillion soums. Also, 385.5 billion soums (28.2 percent) of this debt was accounted for by only 10 large enterprises.

The situation is similar in the construction sector. The number of construction enterprises with tax debts exceeding 100 million soums was 1,091. Their total debt exceeded 1.1 trillion soums. Of this, 506.1 billion soums (42.7 percent) were borne by the 10 largest enterprises.

Individuals and employees' debt

As of January 1, 2025, more than 441.2 thousand employees of 129,099 organizations in the country have unpaid tax debts in the amount of 337.9 billion soums.

Including:
  • Land tax - 210.1 billion soums;
  • Property tax - 127.8 billion soums.

Of which:
  • 62.4 billion soums belong to employees of state budget organizations,
  • 10.3 billion soums belong to employees of non-governmental non-profit organizations,
  • 265.2 billion soums belong to employees of commercial organizations.

The Tax Committee plans to take appropriate measures to reduce debt.
