How many tons of chickpeas were grown in Uzbekistan?

According to the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a total of 33.4 thousand tons of chickpeas were harvested in our country in 2024. This indicator covers all categories of agricultural entities.

The main part of this amount was produced by farms, which accounted for 24 thousand tons.

Also, 6.9 thousand tons of chickpeas were grown by dehkan and household farms, and 2.5 thousand tons by agricultural organizations.

These indicators indicate that there is a steady growth in the cultivation of legumes, in particular chickpeas, in Uzbekistan. According to experts, chickpeas play an important role not only in ensuring food security, but also in increasing export potential.
