
Uzbekistan is considering the issue of purchasing aviation fuel from Kuwait. Within the framework of the working visit of the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, to the State of Kuwait, a number of high-level meetings were held.
In particular, negotiations were held with the Minister of Oil of Kuwait and Chairman of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Tareq Suleiman Al-Roumi, as well as the Minister of Trade and Industry, Khalifa Al-Askar. During the meetings, issues of developing cooperation in the oil and gas and petrochemical sectors, expanding logistics and trade relations, and supplying aviation fuel to Uzbek airlines were discussed.
The Uzbek side also expressed interest in cooperation on increasing the export of fruit and vegetable products, mutual recognition of standards, and accreditation of laboratories.
Issues of deepening investment cooperation and expanding bilateral trade were discussed at a meeting with the Minister of Electric Power, Water Resources and Renewable Energy of the State of Kuwait, as well as the Acting Minister for Finance, Economic Affairs and Investments, Dr. Sabih Abdulaziz Al-Muhayzim. The parties also considered the initiative to establish the "Persian Gulf Countries - Central Asia" Development Fund.
Mutual readiness was confirmed for the practical promotion of the agreements reached within the framework of the second meeting of the Uzbek-Kuwait Joint Intergovernmental Commission and the further development of cooperation.
