Artificial intelligence led to an unfavorable situation in translation

In recent years, artificial intelligence technologies are increasingly penetrating various spheres of our lives. This technology allows you to perform many repetitive tasks several times faster and, naturally, has become a very convenient tool for many. At the same time, along with its advantages, there are also some shortcomings.

For example, we also tried to use artificial intelligence in our experience to facilitate daily processes. In particular, we used the method of obtaining assistance from AI in the process of automatically translating programs prepared in Uzbek into Russian. However, an unfortunate incident occurred yesterday, September 12th, in an article titled "Uzbek Citizens Can Now Travel to Russia Without a 'Foreign' Passport."

The phrase, which should have been correct, was mistakenly translated by artificial intelligence as "Uzbeks can now go to Russia without a "garbage" passport" and published in this form. The complete change of the word's meaning through this not only created an awkward situation, but also surprised the readers.

Thankfully, the error was detected on the morning of September 13 and promptly corrected. However, it's important to draw a conclusion from this situation: artificial intelligence can be a helpful tool, but it's wrong to rely entirely on it.

We also want to emphasize this to our compatriots - it is necessary not to lose caution in the process of using artificial intelligence. Because mistakes like in our case can be repeated at any time. Therefore, along with the effective use of AI capabilities, its results must also be subject to human control.

From this, it can be concluded that no matter how advanced the technology is, the human factor behind it and a responsible approach will remain paramount.
