Women really love humor, and new research shows that this is not a myth at all. In their opinion, interesting and humorous men often have an advantage, even if their appearance is less attractive. Humor can often be considered more important than appearance and status.
According to the Daily Mail, this is because men often want to demonstrate their superiority, while women are looking for a partner who will evoke a smile on their face and make life feel lighter. In this way, Pete Davidson also captured the hearts of celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande.
In a study conducted in Great Britain with the participation of more than 1,200 adults, six personal qualities were assessed: wealth, beauty, ambition, sense of humor, intelligence, and kindness. Calculations have shown that women support partners with humor and ambition, even if they are more beautiful and smarter than themselves. Men, in turn, strive to be fun and financially stable, even if they have a weakness in appearance.
Researchers emphasize that there are evolutionary reasons for this trend: women's beauty is an indicator of their reproductive potential and serves as the "currency of evolution." The life of comedians also confirms this theory: Mr. Bin Rowan Atkinson married makeup artist Sunetra Shastri, Sasha Baron Cohen married actress Ayla Fisher, and Johnny Vegas married producer Maya Dunphy.
