
By the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, amendments and additions were made to the Regulation “On approval of the Regulation on the procedure for voluntary surrender of unregistered firearms and their ammunition, explosive materials and explosive devices to internal affairs bodies and on the procedure for rewarding the surrender of firearms and their ammunition”.
The following procedure for surrendering weapons and their ammunition is established:
- an individual applies to an internal affairs body or a preventive inspector and surrenders the weapon and (or) its ammunition;
- on the same day, the internal affairs body receives the weapon (ammunition) and issues a receipt for keeping an account of the weapon (ammunition);
- after that, the relevant departments of the internal affairs bodies conduct appropriate checks (pre-investigation check, ballistic examination, check on the bases);
- the relevant commission makes a decision on rewarding the applicant.
A reward is provided for the voluntary surrender of weapons or ammunition in the amount of 5 to 500 percent of the minimum wage, in particular:
- for rifled firearms, combined (rifled and smooth-bore) firearms - 500 percent of the minimum wage;
- for smooth-bore firearms - 400 percent of the minimum wage;
- for barrelless firearms (weapons in which the cartridge case is used as a barrel) – 300 percent of the MRL;
- for pneumatic weapons – 100 percent of the MRL;
- for edged cold weapons (rapiers, swords and sabers), throwing weapons (bows, crossbows and spears) – 50 percent of the MRL;
- for electric shock devices, spark plugs and other devices whose damaging effect is based on the use of electrical energy – 30 percent of the MRL;
- for signal weapons – 25 percent of the MRL;
- for gas weapons (gas canisters filled with tear gas or irritant substances, mechanical sprayers, aerosol devices and other devices) – 15 percent of the MRL;
- for cartridges – 5 percent of the MRL;
- For barrel, bolt, cartridge (drum), frame, receiver – 75% of the MRP.
If the weapon is damaged, the amount of the bonus is halved.
