Massive anti-drug raid: arrests made in one day
In Uzbekistan, as part of the large-scale operational-preventive campaign called “Black Drug 2025,” law enforcement agencies carried out a series of serious operations. During these measures aimed at fighting serious drug-related crimes, major violations were uncovered in several regions of the country.

Hashish sale detected in Denov

In a special operation conducted in Denov district of Surkhandarya region in cooperation between the Operational Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service, four individuals were arrested while trying to sell 1 kilogram of hashish for 20 thousand US dollars.

According to the MIA, this crime was uncovered as part of the “Black Drug 2025” campaign. A criminal case was initiated against the detainees under part 5 of article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen.

Opium sale prevented in Ohangaron city

In the city of Ohangaron in Tashkent region, two individuals were caught with physical evidence while attempting to sell 500 grams of opium for 25 thousand US dollars.

The operation continued, and upon inspecting the suspects' belongings, an additional 585 grams of opium and 360 grams of hashish were found. All substances were seized as evidence and a criminal case was opened.

Narcotics cultivation discovered in Fergana

Several drug-related incidents were also identified in the Fergana region. In a raid conducted in Tashlak district, a citizen was found to be growing 103 poppy plants and 118 cannabis plants — narcotic substances — in his backyard. A criminal case was initiated regarding the incident.

Also, in a rapid operation in the city of Margilan, it was found that a citizen was cultivating 170 narcotic plants at his residence. All plants were taken as evidence and a criminal case was initiated.

In conclusion, the wide-scale and consistent work being carried out in the country to combat narcotic substances is yielding results. Investigations into the arrested individuals continue. These efforts serve to build a deeper understanding among citizens about the dangers of drug use and to create a strong social resistance to drug addiction.
