11-year-old girl dies from electric shock in Tashkent

On May 30, 2025, an 11-year-old girl died from an electric shock in the Mirobod district of Tashkent, gazeta.uz reported. According to the press service of the capital’s Main Department of Internal Affairs, the girl had climbed onto a store rooftop to retrieve her younger brother’s toy.

The incident occurred around 18:00 on the rooftop of a store on Amir Temur Street. N.A., born in 2014, climbed the rooftop using a ladder and, while descending, accidentally touched nearby electric wires. She died on the spot from the shock.

The Investigation Department under the Mirobod District Internal Affairs Coordination Office has opened a criminal case under Article 257, Part 2, Clause “a” of the Criminal Code (Violation of labor safety rules resulting in death). The investigation is ongoing. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
