5th-grade student dies from electric shock at a transformer in Namangan

A 13-year-old boy died from an electric shock in the Davlatabad district of Namangan region. The incident occurred on the evening of May 5 in front of a high-voltage transformer.

It is reported that the 5th-grade student climbed onto the transformer to pick cherries when he was struck by a high-voltage current. As a result, he sustained severe injuries and later died in the hospital. The boy's relatives claim that the area around the transformer did not meet safety requirements. They state that the area was not fenced, some wires were exposed, and the transformer was not locked.

A pre-investigation check is underway regarding the incident. Additionally, an internal investigation has been ordered into the activities of the power supply company's employees.
