A dispute over butter ended in murder
A terrible incident that occurred in the Fergana region shocked and frightened the public. In one of the microdistricts of Kokand city, where residents regularly visit a local store, a seemingly simple purchase turned into a tragedy.

The incident started from what seemed like an ordinary situation — a pensioner, who had opened a small private shop near his house, was performing his daily duties as a seller. The day began peacefully. At some point, a neighbor came to the store intending to buy butter. However, a misunderstanding arose between the buyer and the seller.

The verbal argument quickly escalated into an emotionally intense conflict. As the words became harsher, the pensioner's emotions and feelings took over. Eventually, he took a knife kept in the store and attacked his neighbor from behind. The brutal attack resulted in the man being stabbed multiple times and dying at the scene.

After such a disgraceful act, the accused decided to punish himself by attempting suicide in the basement of a warehouse near his house. Just as he was about to hang himself, relatives found him in time and called medical services. His life was saved, but the committed crime inevitably came to light.

During the investigation and court proceedings, the pensioner admitted his guilt. In court, he expressed deep remorse and said the incident happened in a state of unconsciousness and emotional turmoil. He asked for a lighter sentence. However, the victim's son demanded strict punishment.

The court found the accused guilty under Article 97, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan — intentional murder. The court sentenced him to 11 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony.

Such a murder in the Fergana region is being actively discussed by the public. Videos related to the incident have spread on social media. Among the people, harsh statements such as "murder over a piece of butter" are being voiced. Experts believe that to prevent such tragedies, it is essential to strengthen emotional health, patience, and communication culture among the population.

This tragedy shook not only one family but an entire neighborhood. Daily interactions, trade, and customer relationships show how important caution and mutual respect are. The court has issued a verdict, but the pain and regret left in hearts will not go away easily.

According to Zamin.uz analysts, such crimes vividly reflect the unstable psychological environment in society, weak public engagement, and the importance of the rule of law. Especially in older age, psychological instability, loneliness, and a feeling of uselessness can lead people to unexpected decisions.

Calling people to peace, solidarity, and self-control in difficult situations is an important step in preventing such tragedies. From the outside, it doesn’t matter if someone is young or old — every person has the right to live in peace. Each of us must contribute to that.
