Uzbekistan confirms age of 130-year-old woman

Uzbekistan has officially confirmed for the first time that a person has reached the age of 130, Kursiv.uz reported. This refers to Xuvaydo Umarova (Toshmatova), a resident of Buvayda district in Fergana region. According to new documents, she was born on January 1, 1895.

This incredible story came to light through the Ministry of Justice's campaign “No One Left Without Documents.” When local justice officials visited the “Qoraqum” neighborhood, they found that Umarova had never possessed a birth certificate.

Following this, an interdistrict court held a special on-site session and officially recognized her birth. Although media outlets had previously mentioned her, her age had never been legally confirmed. Now, Umarova is officially the oldest person in Uzbekistan — and possibly in the world.
