Ministry clarifies student dormitory placement issues

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation has issued an official response regarding social media reports about problems in placing students in dormitories, Uz24.uz reported.

Applications are reviewed under a special administrative regulation, with priority given to students in need of social protection.

As of September 12, 2025, out of 63,804 first-year students, 40,265 have received automatic placement. Meanwhile, 21,767 remain in the queue: 15,796 are full-time students, and 5,450 live on university campuses.

“In process” status: this is not a rejection, but an indication that an automatic queue has been formed based on available space. Student applications are not canceled, but remain pending.

Additional support: part of the monthly rental fee will be covered by the government.
