Videos have been circulating on social media claiming colored wastewater is flowing into the "Bo‘zsuv" canal. The official explanation was provided by "O‘zsuvta’minot" JSC regarding the situation.
It is reported that there are 3 facilities in Tashkent city that biologically treat wastewater. These are designed for domestic water coming from the population and are not adapted for treating chemical wastes from production.
“In fact, every manufacturing enterprise should have a local facility filtering chemical discharges. However, since operating them is expensive, some enterprises discharge wastewater directly into the sewage system,” the report says.
According to official information, the colored waters entering the canal mainly consist of waste from textile enterprises. "O‘zsuvta’minot" called on all manufacturers to refrain from such actions and to comply with environmental and social standards.
