In the Samarkand region, a leading specialist of the Inspection for Control over the Agro-Industrial Complex was detained with a bribe, the State Security Service reported.
During the study of the activities of one of the farms in the Samarkand district, he found that a citizen using 50 sotkas of land damaged the fertility of the land. However, in exchange for failing to take action against him, he demanded $3,000 (approximately 37 million soums) and received $500 (6.1 million soums) in advance.
During an operational event conducted by the State Security Service and the regional prosecutor's office, he was caught red-handed while receiving the remaining $2,500 (31 million soums).
A case has been initiated against him under Article 168, Part 3, Clause "v" and Article 28, Part 1 of the Criminal Code. He is currently in custody, and an investigation is underway.
