The architect of a limited liability company specializing in the design of construction works, having gained the trust of a citizen living in the Muzrabat district, demanded 17 million soums under the pretext of "problem-free resolution" of documents for his non-residential building.
During an operational event conducted by the State Security Service and internal affairs bodies, the architect was caught red-handed while receiving the requested funds.
Operational measures were continued, and the architect stated that he would give 1 million soums of this money to the head of the district department of construction and housing and communal services. Soon after, the boss was also arrested while receiving this bribe.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against both individuals, and an investigation is underway. This situation once again demonstrates the need for increased transparency and accountability in the construction sector.
