A 20-year-old cyber fraudster from Uzbekistan was detained in Turkey

As a result of a special operational operation conducted jointly by the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Turkey and Uzbekistan, a 20-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, Umid Zohirjonov, suspected of cyber fraud, was detained and returned to Uzbekistan.

This was reported by the country's Consulate General in Istanbul.

According to reports, Dilshod's son, Umid Zohirjonov, born in 2005, embezzled the funds of more than 10 citizens through various online fraudulent methods. This person was on the international wanted list.

The official statement notes that citizens affected by his criminal actions can appeal to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, its regional branches, or the Consulate General in Istanbul.

At the same time, as the responsible agencies emphasized, the search and criminal prosecution of every individual evading criminal liability and hiding abroad will be consistently continued.

The Consulate General in Istanbul, noting the recent increase in citizen complaints about fraud, urged people to be vigilant and not to believe suspicious online offers.
