However, once installed on a device, these files can steal personal data from the phone, gain unauthorized access to social media accounts, or potentially cause financial damage through banking apps.
Experts strongly recommend not opening or installing files if their source is unclear or unreliable. Even seemingly harmless applications may conceal dangerous software.
If a suspicious APK file has already been installed on your device, the following steps are strongly advised:
— Turn off internet connectivity or switch the phone to airplane mode;
— Immediately delete the suspicious application through the phone’s settings;
— If the issue persists, consult a specialist to inspect the device.
Additionally, users are advised to ensure safety by downloading applications only from official sources, such as app stores, refraining from opening files received via unknown links, and regularly checking the device’s security settings.
