During operational events in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Gulistan, the illegal actions of three lawyers were exposed. This was reported by the State Security Service.
It was reported that at an event held by the Tashkent City Department of the State Security Service, a previously convicted lawyer working in the capital was detained while illegally receiving $5,000. During the investigation, it was revealed that he demanded a total of 10 thousand dollars from the accused in exchange for removing Article 135 and imposing a lighter sentence in a criminal case initiated under Articles 131 and 135 of the Criminal Code, which is being considered by the Investigative Department of the Mirabad District Department of Internal Affairs.
In the city of Samarkand, a lawyer of a local law firm was detained while receiving $4,000, promising to provide assistance through his acquaintances in judicial institutions in the case under consideration in the Samarkand City Criminal Court.
Also, a lawyer working in the city of Gulistan, Syrdarya region, was detained while receiving $1,500 from the head of an LLC in the Akaltyn district in exchange for initiating a criminal case related to a drug dispute.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against all three lawyers under Article 168 (fraud) and Article 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are underway.
