On December 31, 2025, a fatal traffic accident occurred on Makhtumkuli Street in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent. The incident occurred around 9:00 PM, and J.R., born in 2005, while driving a Lacetti, hit a pedestrian, Y.N., born in 1991, who was crossing the road at an undesignated location.
The pedestrian died at the scene from severe injuries sustained as a result of the accident. The death of the deceased citizen deeply affected everyone.
According to the information service of the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs Traffic Safety Department, a criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Department of the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Department under Article 266, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the investigation is ongoing.
A court decision on the driver of the car and his liability is expected. The causes of the accident and the factors that caused the injuries are being determined. During the investigation, all the details of the incident will be studied in detail.
