In the Tashkent region, a citizen who had been creating fake accounts in the names of patients and misappropriating donation funds was exposed. The offense was uncovered by officers of the Jizzakh regional Department of Internal Affairs, and the suspect was detained.
It was found that a resident of the Buka district of the Tashkent region, born in 1999, D.R., starting from September 2025, created several fake accounts via the Telegram messenger. In various social groups, he added the numbers of his own bank plastic cards to photos and videos shared in the names of individuals who had allegedly previously suffered from serious illnesses and had since recovered.
In this way, abusing people’s trust, he collected money sent as donations and spent it on personal needs. This fraud case was revealed following an appeal to law enforcement authorities by a resident of the “Zargarlik” neighborhood in the city of Jizzakh.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and preliminary investigative actions are being carried out.
Similar cases have also been observed in other regions of the country. In particular, in the Bukhara region, an individual was identified who, via Telegram, created a fake account in the name of the head of a reputable organization and sent messages with the content of “official assignments” to heads of enterprises and institutions. One of the organization heads, believing the fraudster, transferred 8 million soums to his card.
In addition, citizens have been warned about cases of collecting money under the pretext of returning the bodies of Uzbek citizens who died abroad to the homeland. It is known that if a citizen of Uzbekistan dies abroad, their body is brought back to the country at the expense of relevant funds.
Specialists urge citizens to remain vigilant in such situations and not to trust suspicious messages and donation requests. Vigilance is the strongest shield against fraud.
