Shavkat Mirziyoyev was solemnly awarded the highest order of Pakistan

In Islamabad, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari held talks in a narrow circle, and then with the participation of delegations. At the end of the meeting, a ceremonial but very significant event took place: our head of state was awarded the highest state award of Pakistan - the "Order of Pakistan".
The award ceremony took place at the presidential residence in the capital - the Sadr City. The Pakistani side explained this order as a worthy recognition of the joint efforts to expand multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, strengthen strategic rapprochement. At the same time, it was especially noted that this award is a symbol of friendly relations and deep respect for the people of Uzbekistan.

Another thought was echoed at the ceremony: it was emphasized that the Uzbek-Pakistani strategic partnership is rising to a new level in terms of content, and that the two sides intend to complement these relations not only with “warm words”, but with concrete projects and results.
Why is this order important?
The “Order of Pakistan” is the highest civilian award of Pakistan and is often awarded to heads of state and individuals who have served the country at the highest level.
It should be noted that this award has also been awarded to big names in world politics in different years. The list includes leaders such as Elizabeth II, Richard Nixon, Nelson Mandela, Bhumibol Adulyadej, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Hu Jintao, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Mohammed bin Salman.
In short, this ceremony is not an episode that will remain in the diplomatic protocol. It is a symbolic, but very clear signal that the relations between the two states are moving away from "simple cooperation" and towards a long-term strategic partnership.
Now, fans (and business and logistics) can only hope for one thing: this high mood will not be on paper, but will be reflected in real results - trade, investment, transport corridors and interregional cooperation will gain momentum faster.
