Suicide case against Allamjonov: New questions surrounding Jahongirov's death have intensified

Reports about the death of Ismoil Jahongirov, who was serving a long prison sentence in the case of attempted assassination of Komil Allamjonov, caused widespread discussion. According to preliminary information, the incident occurred on February 26 in a penitentiary institution, and the deceased was buried on February 27. This was reported by the convict's relatives and local publications.
According to relatives, they were told that Jahongirov had committed suicide. At the same time, it is reported that the internal affairs bodies or the Prosecutor General's Office have not yet given an open and detailed official explanation for this situation. Therefore, some details surrounding the incident are currently awaiting confirmation.
Ismoil Jahongirov was one of those charged in connection with the assassination attempt on Komil Allamjonov on October 26, 2024. On February 12, 2025, the Military Court of Uzbekistan sentenced Jahongirov to 23 years in prison. In the same case, Shokhrukh Akhmedov was sentenced to 23 years.
During the investigation and court proceedings, Jahongirov was mentioned as one of the perpetrators of the assassination attempt. Official information has also been released that the former head of the Presidential State Security Service's own security department, Shukhrat Rasulov, was sentenced to 23 years in prison, and entrepreneur Javlon Yunusov, who was detained from South Korea, was sentenced to 18 years and 6 months in prison as an intermediary.
This event brought big questions back to the agenda among the public. Because we are talking not just about the death of the convict, but about the fate of one of the main defendants in the assassination case, which caused a great stir in the country. Therefore, many now expect clear, open, and reliable explanations from official bodies.
