There has been a change in the leadership of the Journalists Union of Uzbekistan. At the meeting of the organization's Board held today, Shuxratjon Oripov Orip ugli was appointed as the acting chairman of the Journalists Union.
Shuxratjon Oripov is considered one of the specialists who has gained sufficient experience in the field of press and information. He currently serves as the press secretary of the "Business Development Bank". Now, alongside his work at the bank, he will lead the prestigious organization that unites the country's journalist community.
The Journalists Union plays an important role in ensuring freedom of speech, protecting the rights and interests of media workers, and improving the qualifications of industry representatives. Among the main tasks facing the new leader are strengthening the social protection of journalists and consistently continuing reforms in the media sector.
