The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan conducted large-scale operational preventive measures throughout the country to combat crime and prevent offenses. As a result of these operations, numerous violations that threatened public safety were uncovered, and appropriate measures were taken against the perpetrators.
According to information provided by the Ministry, a total of 116 cases of extortion, the establishment of 86 gambling houses, and 40 crimes related to human trafficking were identified during the events. Also, 790 cases of crimes against morality, in particular, the maintenance of brothels and the intentional spread of infection with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, were stopped. Such figures indicate that much remains to be done to stabilize the spiritual environment in society.
Law enforcement officers detained 533 wanted individuals, ensuring the rule of law and the inevitability of punishment. In January and February of this year, a total of 3,150 criminal cases were initiated, and 2,934 citizens were brought to administrative responsibility. A preventive measure in the form of detention was applied to another 980 persons.
Within the framework of combating cases of illegal possession and circulation of weapons, 315 criminal cases were opened. As a result, a total of 4,570 different types of cold weapons were seized from citizens as material evidence. Among them are 4,004 sharp-edged objects, 72 kastets, 50 bats, and 444 other types of dangerous objects. In addition, operatives seized 5,814 rounds of ammunition and 3 kilograms 715 grams of explosives, preventing many serious crimes that could have occurred.
In the modern information space, special attention is paid to ensuring security. In particular, the activities of 47 accounts on social networks that poison the minds and hearts of young people, promote the rules of the criminal world, and negatively affect the criminogenic situation in society were blocked. The internal affairs bodies stated that such measures will be continued in the future.
