In the Surkhandarya region, a person who deceived several citizens and embezzled money under the pretext of selling a "Cobalt" car, which does not exist, was detained.
It turned out that a 27-year-old man living in the Kumkurgan district created a fake profile in the Telegram messenger and posted advertisements about the sale of a Cobalt car in various groups and channels. In order to attract buyers, he showed the price of the car much lower than the market price.
During correspondence with customers, the suspect told them that they needed to install new tires in the car and asked to transfer money in advance. After citizens sent money, he deleted the correspondence and cut off communication.
During the investigation, it was established that this person caused material damage totaling more than 8 million soums to three citizens living in the Altinsay district of Surkhandarya region. In total, it turned out that he gained the trust of 15 citizens and embezzled their funds.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the suspect under part 3 of Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. By court order, a preventive measure in the form of detention was applied to him.
