A hidden medicine warehouse has been uncovered in Tashkent, and a large stock has been exposed

In the Tashkent district of Tashkent region, as a result of an оператив measure conducted by law enforcement agencies, a hidden warehouse storing illegal medicines was uncovered.
During this operation carried out in cooperation between the State Security Service and customs authorities, it was reported that control in several directions had been strengthened. As a result of inspections, it was established that a person born in 1991, living in this area, had been using his residential house as an illegal warehouse.
It became known that he had been storing pharmaceutical products illegally imported from abroad through smuggling channels in a concealed manner, and later selling them to some pharmacies in the capital. It is noted that in this way he had formed a source of illegal income.
During a full inspection of the warehouse, a total of 119 types of medicines were found. They were placed in 3,356 boxes and in total amounted to 76,318 units of medical products. Among them were medicines such as “Frotu”, “Budenofalk”, “Gaviscon”, “Baraclude”, and other types of preparations.
According to preliminary estimates by specialists, the total value of these medicines is assessed at approximately 1 billion Uzbek soums. All products were formally documented and seized in accordance with procedural rules.
At present, samples have been taken from all medicines and sent to the Center for Pharmaceutical Products Safety for laboratory testing in order to determine their quality and safety.
Law enforcement agencies are continuing pre-investigation checks regarding this incident. Specialists note that such cases pose a serious threat to public health.
