Those attempting to settle matters through bribery apprehended

Corruption cases related to employment, obtaining various permits, and resolving pension issues have been exposed in several regions of Uzbekistan. During operational activities conducted by the State Security Service in cooperation with the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office and internal affairs agencies, the illegal actions of several officials and intermediaries were halted.
It is reported that in a case recorded in the Khorezm region, a junior inspector of the Public Order Maintenance Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate gained a citizen's trust by promising to help hire their acquaintance into the internal affairs agencies.
According to investigation data, he demanded 4,500 USD for this service. During the operational event, the inspector was caught red-handed while receiving 1,800 USD and 2.4 million soums in advance.
In a case observed in the Tashkent region, a methodologist from the district Preschool and School Education Department demanded money from a citizen who wanted to open a private family kindergarten to process various permits.
According to reports, he requested 1.5 million soums to prepare documents regarding the household's compliance with sanitary requirements and 200 USD to obtain a positive conclusion regarding fire safety requirements.
During the operational event, the methodologist was apprehended while receiving the money. Additionally, the illegal actions of a senior inspector from the district Emergency Situations Department were exposed while he was receiving 200 USD during the same operation.
A similar situation was identified in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Specifically, a woman living in the Chimboy district promised a citizen of the Kegeyli district to artificially increase their work experience to qualify for an age-related pension.
The woman was apprehended while receiving 7 million soums for this service. The investigation revealed that she planned to carry out this act through her son, who holds a responsible position at the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated regarding these three incidents, and investigative actions are being continued by law enforcement agencies. Experts emphasize that operational measures to combat corruption and bribery will continue consistently.
