Sergey Lushan: What did he say after the win over Bunyodkor?

Following the 10th round match of the Super League between Bunyodkor and Navbahor (2:3), guest team head coach Sergey Lushan spoke at the press conference and shared his thoughts on his team’s performance and refereeing.

"An exciting match"

"It was a very entertaining match. I believe the fans enjoyed it. The players followed all instructions and the result showed it. Had we taken advantage of 2–3 more chances, we could’ve secured the win earlier. Regarding VAR — it’s confusing: one match is interpreted one way, the next completely differently. I believe the referee committee should analyze this."

"Tight schedule but positive results"

"In the past week, we played three matches. That’s tough physically. We fielded reserve players in the Cup, but had to bring on the main squad at the end for the result. Now we have a one-week break. I hope we’ll recover for the Kokand-1912 match."

"Win over Bunyodkor — planned result"

"Bunyodkor is strong in attack. We analyzed them well. The players exploited weaknesses in their defense today. Our plan worked — I’m satisfied."

"It's not that Teydi was ignored — it’s how the game unfolded"

"I don’t think Teydi was ignored. It's not about the language barrier — everyone understands during training. We have quick attackers who try to run behind defenders. If there’s no result, we’ll need to adapt."

"Jiyanov, Akhmedov, and Urinboev practice penalties after training. I don’t force anyone. Before the match, we nominate 3–4 players. Whoever feels confident during the game takes the shot."

"In the goal we conceded, I think there was a foul on Azim Akhmedov. If so, the goal should’ve been disallowed. But that’s for the referees to explain — I’m a coach, not a referee."
