In the busy capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, the second day matches of the prestigious judo tournament in the “Grand Slam” series have started.
Today, men will compete on the tatami in the -73 kg and -81 kg weight categories, while women will fight in the -63 kg and -70 kg divisions. Besides medals, valuable points for the world ranking are also at stake.
Uzbekistan’s honor in this tournament is being defended by Hojiakbar Toshev, Murodjon Yuldoshev, and Amirbek Aminov. Fans and experts are expecting good results from these guys, wishing them victory and good luck.
The first opponents of our judokas are known:
- In the -73 kg weight category, Hojiakbar Toshev will face either the Georgian athlete Mate Beruashvili or the Chinese sportsman Lin Gaohuey.
- In the -81 kg category, Murodjon Yuldoshev will compete against Abdul-Kerim Tasuev (representing IJF) or Almazjan uulu Tegin from Kyrgyzstan.
- In this same weight category, another of our compatriots, Amirbek Aminov, will face the Georgian athlete Kote Kapanadze.
The matches are expected to be intense and dynamic. Every point and medal in this tournament will further strengthen our compatriots’ positions in the international rankings.
