After the 20th round Super League match between Neftchi and Mash’al, the visiting team’s head coach Otabek Narzullaev attended the press conference and shared his thoughts about the game.
According to the coach, the team started the match well, but mistakes were costly:
– We started the encounter successfully, but our own mistakes decided the result. We will never show this as an excuse. After the trip to Andijan we didn’t have enough time to recover the players. The road, the long travel and constant matches against strong opponents exhausted the footballers, – he said.
When asked what the team lacked after the victory over Andijan, Narzullaev replied:
– The main reason is fatigue. Because in the game against Andijan we spent a lot of energy. Then again the road, first to Tashkent, then to Fergana. Whether we want it or not, the player’s body is subject to tiredness. We started the match well, but after the 15th–20th minute mistakes increased. We lost concentration and as a result conceded goals. This too is a consequence of fatigue, – said the coach.
When asked about the goalkeeper’s mistake, Narzullaev responded cautiously:
– This is football. Maybe our goalkeeper made a mistake, maybe not. After watching and analyzing the game I can say more precisely. But I will note one thing: the mistake does not belong to one person. It is the mistake of the coaches, the players, and the whole club. We continue to work and will try to reduce the mistakes, – he said.
The coach also touched upon the attention given to young players:
– We watch every match of our young players. If it doesn’t coincide with the main team’s games, I certainly go to watch. We intend to test more youth. For example, in the upcoming cup game against Pakhtakor, we plan to field several young players. Today Farrukh Toshpulatov made his debut, and against such a strong opponent like Neftchi, he played 10 minutes and did not leave a bad impression. In our U21 and U19 squads we have a lot of such talented players. But in the first team there is high competition. Therefore, it is not always easy to give them a chance. But once we collect enough points, we plan to replace some main team players with young ones, – he emphasized.
From the words at the press conference it became clear that Narzullaev gave an objective assessment of today’s defeat and expressed his intention to open more opportunities for young players in the future.
