As the summer transfer window in European football becomes increasingly intense, Manchester City has once again come into the spotlight with its plans to sign PSG’s first-choice goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
According to reports, the Parisian club intends to part ways with the 26-year-old Italian keeper and is ready to let him go. The French giant has valued Donnarumma highly as the current Champions League winner but is eager to sell him quickly.
Manchester City’s management has already reached a personal agreement with the player. Sources indicate that the “Citizens” offered Donnarumma an annual salary of €12 million, and the goalkeeper accepted these terms. However, the main issue lies in the transfer fee.
PSG initially valued their goalkeeper at around €50 million. Yet, during negotiations, they showed flexibility, expressing readiness to settle for €30–35 million. At the same time, according to L'Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi, Manchester City made a proposal to PSG of just €15 million.
For the French club, this amount was seen as unexpected and even “ridiculous.” If PSG refuses, Manchester City is prepared to postpone the transfer until January, when Donnarumma’s contract approaches its end and his value could drop further.
Thus, Gianluigi Donnarumma’s future remains one of the most intriguing topics in European football. Will he move to the Premier League, or will he be forced to stay in Paris? The answer to this question is still open.
