The 2025 World Boxing Championship is in full swing in Liverpool, England. The strongest athletes from different countries are fighting for medals and victories in the prestigious competition.
On September 10, 14 of our boxers entered the ring as part of the Uzbek national team. Our team, which went to the championship with 18 athletes, had been continuing its undefeated streak until then. However, this time there were several unexpected losses - 4 of our compatriots among the girls and 2 of our compatriots in the men's competition said goodbye to the competition.
Women's competitions
-54 kg: Nigina Uktamova lost a tight fight against American Yozelina Perez with a score of 2:3.
-60 kg: Sitora Turdibekova lost a match against Kazakhstan's Viktoriya Grafeeva with a score of 1:4.
+80 kg: Altynai Sotimbayeva lost 1:4 in the fight against Nupur from India.
-57 kg: Humorabonu Mamajonova lost 0:5 in the fight against Jaismine from India and was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
However, despite a series of defeats, Feruza Kazakova and Navbahor Khamidova pleased the fans on behalf of the women's team.

-65 kg: Navbahor Khamidova defeated the host athlete Sacha Hickey with a score of 4:1 and advanced to the semifinals.

-80 kg: Javakhir Ummataliev defeated Olympic finalist Nurbek Oralbay from Kazakhstan with a score of 5:0.
-90 kg: Turabek Habibullaev won a convincing victory over Sagindyk Togambay from Kazakhstan - 5:0.
-60 kg: Olympic champion Abdumalik Khalokov defeated Bibars Dzheksen from Kazakhstan with a real "master class" - 5:0.
-65 kg: Asadkhozha Muydinkhojaev left no chance for Ertugan Zeinulinov from Kazakhstan - 5:0.
-75 kg: Fazliddin Erkinboev defeated Belgian Hamza Sriri with a score of 5:0.
+90 kg: Jahongir Zokirov easily defeated Norwegian Omar Shiha – 5:0.

Thus, despite the fact that our country's boxers suffered several defeats in one day, 7 of our athletes qualified for the semifinals. This result is of great importance for the country's boxing and will undoubtedly provide great motivation for our young athletes.
