In the UFC world, financial success is not always measured on the same scales as strength in the ring. The organization's president, Dana White, strongly expressed this opinion in a recent interview. He argued that large sums of money and unparalleled fame extinguish the enthusiasm of some warriors.
According to White, many stars lose their previous "hunger," that is, the maximum mental readiness to fight for victory, after achieving record rewards and large payouts.
"Money changes a lot. After earning millions, some people cannot restore their previous motivation. Conor McGregor is the clearest example of this. He acquired enormous wealth and no longer fought with such thirst as before. But Khabib Nurmagomedov is an exception - although he earned huge sums of money, he did not lose himself, did not deviate from his principles. "This makes me very happy," White said.
According to information provided by US and European media, Conor McGregor's current wealth is approximately $200 million. This amount was formed not only through fights, but also through business projects.
At the same time, there is a constant question in the UFC environment: does big money strengthen fighters or, on the contrary, quickly demoralize them?
According to White, this depends on the individual will of each athlete. In fact, while large rewards and commercial contracts take the sport to a new level, a true fighter should not lose the "burning" desire for victory.
MMA fans are divided on this topic: some say that a large income is the right of every champion, while others emphasize that enthusiasm in the ring should prevail over money.
One thing is clear: in the world of MMA, neither big money nor a fighter with great talent is above everything - the main thing is a spirit of perseverance and continuous self-improvement.
