Igor Kolivanov, a former player of Moscow’s Dynamo football club, has stated that the Russian national team’s defeat to Chile might have a positive impact on the team’s morale. According to him, the past three years of playing only friendly matches have made it difficult for players to maintain high levels of focus and concentration, as no official tournaments or qualification games are being held.
Kolivanov emphasized that the match in Sochi was not easy for the team, but they are capable of performing even stronger. "It had been a long time since the last defeat, and it was bound to happen eventually.
Perhaps this loss will provide them with additional motivation and encourage them to work harder. I hope so," Kolivanov said in an interview with "Match TV." It should be noted that the Russian national team has only been playing friendly matches since 2022.
