The Danish national team will face North Macedonia on March 26 in a battle for a spot in the FIFA World Cup. This matchup is the result of the playoff draw conducted on November 20.
"We did not want to face Sweden. That would have been a match of special significance.
I have limited information about Macedonia. They are a Balkan team that plays with heart.
In the coming days, we will analyze them more thoroughly. This draw must pave the way for us to qualify for the World Cup.
We feel confident and believe we can accomplish this task," said Danish national team coach Brian Riemer in an interview with the Ritzau news agency. The winner of this pairing will meet either Ireland or the Czech Republic in the final match on March 31.
