North Macedonia's national football team head coach, Blagoja Milevski, shared his thoughts regarding the draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs. In March, the Macedonian team will face Denmark away in the semi-finals.
The winner of this match will secure a spot in the final against either the Czech Republic or Ireland. "In the previous playoffs, we competed against major favorites like Italy and Portugal.
This time, the opponent is relatively easier, but I must say, there are no straightforward rivals here; rather, every match poses a challenge," Milevski stated in an interview with North Macedonia's Football Federation's official website. "Unfortunately, we will once again not have the opportunity to play a home game.
Denmark is a very strong team, and it would be disrespectful to make any predictions in advance. We will use all available resources to remain competitive in the playoffs," the coach added.
Additionally, according to reports in the Macedonian media, Milevski could potentially be dismissed before the playoff games. The Federation's leadership was dissatisfied with the 1–7 loss to Wales, which deprived the team of finishing second in their group.
Nevertheless, they managed to qualify for the playoffs due to their results in the Nations League. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
